This spring, AMATERAS has launched a new product:
Lounge pants made from white denim carefully woven by artisans in Okayama.
We have been pursuing "comfort" and "beauty with a core" ever since.

Okayama is known as one of the world's leading denim producing regions.

Its high level of technical skill and quality is recognized by global maison brands.

This lounge denim has
The denim used is made from 100% domestically produced cotton white denim woven in Okayama.
The husks and fibers of the cotton plant before it is made into thread are deliberately left intact.
It has a natural and warm look.

What we aimed for with this denim was
It's a new kind of comfort that's a little different from what you might call "stylish denim."

The waist is elasticated 360° around,
Designed to fit snugly against the body without feeling tight.
Furthermore, the hem is unfinished, so you can cut it to fit your height.
We have created a versatile denim that is suitable for both lounges and everyday outings.

We value taking the time to carefully finish our products rather than mass producing them.

This denim is also inspected by craftsmen one by one,
We have finished the product so that even slight individual differences can be felt as part of the product's unique texture.
All washing and processing is done domestically, and one of the charms of this product is that each piece has a different look.

In creating this product, we visited fabric factories and sewing sites in Okayama,
I was once again reminded of the beauty of things made by hand.

What particularly struck me was the faint traces of cotton shells and fibers that remained on the surface of the fabric.
This is a part that would normally be removed,
I felt that this gave the fabric a depth and warmth that only this fabric could produce.

Comfort is the norm in today's fashion.
However, if you add a touch of craftsmanship and cultural background,
I feel like it brings a pleasant sense of tension to my daily life.

For example, even with an elastic waistband, it doesn't look sloppy.
The silhouette is beautiful, simple, and fits naturally to your body.
And behind this lies Okayama's world-renowned technology and handiwork that has been passed down through the generations.
